like a movie we stood below the larger ideas almost to the point of baptism. kissing on the corner by my home with eyes completely closed, because maybe if we can't see them then they won't notice us and we whisper more then speak but not even hushed voices and rain are enough to dampen these words. and i'm sorry that we're always over exposed and that no matter what, for quite a good deal of time, we are going to be in the center of all of these causal circles. yet it's okay because it's all rather much like a secret; a secret complete with lime light and prime location but regardless it stands still like a foreign theater actress, smile clenched tight she sings in a voice only you and I can hear. and after all to try and decipher a dream is something less accurate then the weather reports these days. so they don't speak and we grasp on to something that seems like `forever' or `closer' and hope that they can forget just as easily all of the other lovers and drunken afternoons. or maybe starting today there wasn't a yesterday? but this is just starting to feel like something so large it leaves imprints on the sun as it grows. or we've just turned out to be the love sick kids they always thought we'd be. but at least with all of it's symptoms, this high fever and sore throat keep me feeling warm even when i'm not with you.
