Comment:

Just how smooth-'70s are we talkin' here? Dab-of-Paco Rabanne-behind-the-ears smooth. Mateus-Rosé-in-a-leaded-crystal-goblet smooth. Hand-tooled-leather-steering-wheel-wrap-for-your-240-Z smooth. Mmmmmm, nice. Three years before Debra Winger and John Travolta hooked up urban with cowboy in an easy-listening love affair, Firefall spread their Eagles-style wings in the breezy air-kiss of "Just Remember I Love You" (complete with real Eagle Timothy B. Schmit on backing vocals). The Doobie Brothers wash away the last of their hippie-biker-bar-band grit down at the marina's edge, bringing in Michael McDonald's anguished blue-eyed soul on the jazzy, white-buck shuffle of "Minute By Minute." And like the olive in the driest of all martinis, Raphael Ravenscroft adds his distinctive tang to Gerry Rafferty's psychic - and sonic - self-exam, "Baker Street," with the most instantly recognizable sax solo of the decade. From "I'm Not In Love" to "The Best of My Love," from "Crazy Love" to "Muskrat Love," we've got all the songs that your favorite artists polished to dreamy, creamy, hi-gloss smoothitude.
